Selling flowers on Etsy: what sells, photos, titles and tags

Etsy can bring a florist customers far beyond their delivery area, as long as the product survives the post and the listing gets found. Here is what sells, how to photograph it, and how to write titles and tags that match what buyers type.

What sells well for florists on Etsy

  • Dried and preserved arrangements: they travel well and last for months.
  • Everlasting wreaths for doors and walls, in seasonal colours.
  • Pressed-flower art, cards and keepsakes, including wedding bouquet preservation.
  • Silk and artificial arrangements for gifts, offices and weddings.
  • Local fresh flowers, if you deliver locally: check Etsy’s current policies and your delivery options first.

Photos that get clicks

  1. A clean first photo

The first photo becomes the thumbnail in search. Show the whole piece, centred, on a calm background, at least 2000 px on the shortest side.

  2. Show the size

Add a photo on a table, a door or in a hand, so buyers know how big it is.

  3. Details and colour

Close-ups of the main flowers and true colours, so nothing surprises the buyer.

  4. Make the shop match

Photograph every listing in the same room so your shop page looks like one collection.

Your photos should show the item the buyer will receive. In ShotSetter, choose a room that keeps your flowers as made for listings: read which rooms keep your flowers as made.

Titles and tags buyers search for

  • Titles can be up to 140 characters. Lead with what it is and who it’s for: “Dried Flower Wreath for Front Door, Boho Pampas Wreath, Housewarming Gift”.
  • 13 tags of up to 20 characters each. Use phrases buyers type: “dried flower wreath”, “boho door decor”, “mothers day gift”.
  • Descriptions: size, flowers used, how long it lasts and how to care for it.

Write them in seconds with the free Etsy title generator, Etsy tag generator and flower description generator, and crop photos with the product photo resizer. For delivery apps too, read photos for DoorDash, Uber Eats and Etsy.
