Use both

Canva and ShotSetter: which does what for a florist?

Most florists already use Canva for flyers, menus and posts, and it’s brilliant at that. The question is the photo that goes inside the design. Here is what each one does, checked on Canva’s own pages on 23 October 2026, and how to use them together.

The short answer

  • Canva makes designs: flyers, price menus, Instagram templates, cards, and scheduling your posts.
  • ShotSetter makes the product photo: one phone photo of your arrangement becomes a 4K studio photo in a room made for flowers, and its Campaign kit makes the post, Stories, pin and captions from it.

Why a new background isn’t a product photo

Canva’s BG Generator places a new background around your photo, and Canva’s own help page notes that the new background may look more pixelated than your original and that the light may not match. For a flyer, that’s often fine. For the product photo on your website or Etsy listing, the arrangement should stand on the room’s surface in its light and shadow, which is what ShotSetter’s rooms are made for.

How to use them together

  1. Photograph the piece

One phone photo in soft window light. Read how to photograph a flower arrangement with your phone.

  2. Make the product photo

Choose a room in ShotSetter and get a 4K studio photo in about a minute.

  3. Post it

Use the Campaign kit for the Instagram post, Stories, pin and captions, or download the photo for your website and Etsy.

  4. Design the extras in Canva

Drop the studio photo into your Canva flyer, price menu or newsletter. For a quick menu, try the free flower menu maker.

Quick answers

Can Canva remove the background from flower photos?

Yes, on Canva Pro and up. The free plan doesn’t include Background Remover or the background generator (checked 23 October 2026).

Is Canva good for florists?

For designs, yes: flyers, menus, cards and social templates. For the product photo itself, ShotSetter places your arrangement in a studio room made for flowers, in 4K.

Do I need Canva if I use ShotSetter?

Not for product photos and posts: ShotSetter’s Campaign kit makes the Instagram post, Stories, pin and captions. Canva is still handy for flyers, menus and printed pieces.
